David (Dave) Briggs is the owner of Dave’s Arts Management Network, LLC: “Not just another DAMN consultant!”

A native of Ohio, Briggs graduated from Muskingum College (University) in Ohio. He pursued graduate studies in Organizational Communication at Pittsburg State Univ, Kansas and Theatre Management at UNC-Greensboro.

 

Dave has presented everything from Broadway to Bluegrass, Classical to Comedy and Opera to Variety, he also managed municipal, non-profit, community college and university venues.

 

Dave retired in 2024 as the Executive Director of High Point Theatre having served from 2011-2024.  Mr. Briggs served as President and Executive of Director of Shaw Center for the Arts in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 2006-2011; Director of J.E. Broyhill Civic Center at Caldwell Community College in Lenoir, NC 1993- 2006; Director of Theatres, instructor at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC 1986-1993. Mr. Briggs started his career as the Production Manager, Theatre Instructor for the J.A. Walker Center at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, NC 1983-1986.

 

Briggs has served on several art agency boards: North America Performing Arts Managers and Agents (NAPAMA), High Point (NC) Arts Council, Caldwell (NC) Arts Council, North Carolina Presenters Consortium (NCPC), NC Theatre Conference (NCTC), Baton Rouge Little Theatre, IAVM, other local and regional boards. His love of live theatre and the process of creating and bringing artists and audiences together is the driving force in his career in the arts.
