Comic performer and master storyteller Kelly Swanson features two engaging and entertaining one-woman shows. Her flagship production Who Hijacked My Fairytale is popular for a ladies night out! It follows her personal journey from low self-esteem and feeling like an outsider to finding her voice and rewriting her life's script. Fox Cities Performing Arts Center (Appleton, WI) says....."The show masterfully intertwines her own narrative with the audience's experiences, tackling unrealistic expectations, aging, and body image with a healthy dose of humor."
Kelly's stand-up show: Southern Fried Gossip features her signature "Southern Belle" persona and "Southern Sass". It relies heavily on community-focused storytelling, humorous anecdotes, and regional wisdom. Southern Fried Gossip can be tailored to your audience: Southern Fried Date Night, Southern Fried Christmas, etc. Kelly Swanson's versatility to adapt to her audience has been compared to Jeanne Robertson with a touch of James Gregory. A true one-of-a-kind entertainer.
Technical Rider for Kelly Swanson’s: Who Hijacked My Fairytale (WH)Southern Fried Gossip (SFG)
Please allow for a 90 minute sound check prior to curtain.WH Lighting: Full stage wash with up to 3 specials, if available. Down Center, Down Left and Down Right. Preferably a pink and amber wash on stage.
SFG Lighting: Full stage wash, no specials needed use colors as requested for WH. If available, a projector is requested to project the kitchen scenery. File will be sent in advance.
Audio: A professional sound system suitable for the performance space is required. Ms. Swanson will bring her own headset microphone, which is capable of being used with most wireless systems. We ask that the venue provide at least one wireless belt pack and one wireless handheld. If not available a wired microphone cabled from the front of the stage.
Both WH and SFG have sound cues which should be practiced at sound check.Stage Scenery: for WH we request a sofa, end table, side chair, 6x8 carpet to match the furniture and if possible a coffee table. This will be placed center. SFG requires a small dining room table, 48” – 60” preferred and two to 3 matching chairs mid-stage center. If the projection screen isn’t available, then both shows can be performed in front of a cyclorama or black curtains.
Hospitality: Kelly would like 4 bottles of Desani, Aquafina or LeBleu water, please no Nestle. A pot of fresh coffee, light snacks, small fruit tray. No meal is required unless there are two performances in on day.
